I just ordered some mammoth Ivory, small pieces and cutoffs. I was wondering if anyone has tried to carve it? From reading up, it gives off a bad smell when being worked with power tools, even sanding. luckily I have a external air handling system to pull the smell away. I'm going to try and carve a small Item and see if the cut wil be possible without the heat ruining the surface. I'll post the results.
