Bruce, believe it or not its simply chrome spray paint. This one was made out of pine, sanded, then used sanding sealer and then steel wool to smooth out, then shot with the spray paint.

It made a great looking finish, really smoothly metallic . I'll have to try the steel wool step after the sealer next time as well since it worked for you. Would you please share the brand of chrome spray paint as that may also help make it look that good. They say that preparation is 90% of the paint job. Many thanks.

Bruce, it was Rustoleum brand. The steel wool is a finish step I have always used after sanding sealer and/or spray lacquer coats. Something that stuck with me since high school wood shop.
