Long bit question.

Does the program allow for multiple passes for deep cuts? With the regular bits carving over .5 and a bit beginning to get dull. the bit can catch on the climb cut (moving toward the key board) and move the whole carve up about 1/2". So is this a potential problem with a 2" deep carve?

As far as I know, the deep carving is like the regular carving. All done in one pass.

Could it be an encoder?

Defiantly the bit. Getting a curl on the edges before this happened. Changed bits and trouble fixed. This has happened more than once, once near the end of a 6ft 18hour carve.
