In one of the many catalogs I got this season there were a couple of verses that are carve-worthy.
Perhaps there could be a "sticky" of these things to help us when we feel the need for a verse to carve.
About Dogs:
It came to me that every time I lose a dog
they take a piece of my heart with them,
and every new dog that comes into my
life gifts me with a piece of their heart.
If I live long enough all of the components
of my heart will be dog, and I will become
as generous and loving as they are.

We thought of you today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
We have you in our heart.
The size of the dog is a poor indicator
of the size of their love and heart.
Dogs leave pawprints on your heart.
Dear God, please help me become the person that my dog thinks I am.
How to handle stress like a Dog:
If you can't eat it or play with it,
then pee on it and walk away!
And then there is this one posted by Sarge (http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?5505-tomb-stone&highlight=rainbow+bridge) (post #3)
