layering patterns

I want to put another pattern in the center of a pattern that I have already worked on.Any suggestions?also Im having trouble making circle and applying depth toit I put in ..4 and apply but the circle disappears from the board.

I have a sunflower which I want to put another pattern in the center,but as soon as I do it keep the sunflower on top and will not let me place it there

Play with the merge functions and your depth see how that might work for you.. use the additive or your invert tool to be able to see your pattern come back up.
