Scan Draw front.

I scanned in the Draw from a dresser a friend picked up. However when I carved it, it cut down the draw. The only thing I could find was the thickness was set to 1.0. It should have been 3/4. I have never had the Carvewright do this, has any one else.

Hi Leo,

Have not run into what you described with any of my scans that were then carved. Did it shrink the drawer dimensions proportionately when it carved? That might have been carved by a "scaling" situation if the intended board would not fit the whole pattern made with the scan. All I can imagine. Nothing I can think of related to the difference of 1" think board rather than the intended 3/4". Hopefully someone may have run into this and we'll all gain a lesson learned.

What was the thickness of the scan?

The scan had .8125 and in design I changed to .74
It appears to have shrink the front proportionately, but didn't, ask in set up. The board was 48 inches long, needed 19.8125 and was 12 inches wide and only need 7.98

The only thing is it was a beautiful pieces of Oak and I only have enough for one more.

My mistake, thought you were saying it compressed the carving and went deeper.

Did not see if you had any scaling prompts or not. Guessing not since your board was plenty big enough. Any chance you had a board slippage problem? What was actual carved size versus design size?

I have never had a carve size reduced because of thickness. I do not think the thickness difference was your issue.
