You know that stuff called PVC board?
Locally, I can only get it at Lowes, but's it looks like a board, except it's made 100% of PVC. A man made product.

Does anyone know if Titebond glues stick to that stuff? If I glued a piece of MDF to it....would it hold?

I'm not looking for a MDF to PVC board glue solution. Just an answer from someone that has experience with such an occurrence.

I have not REAL clue if it would hold or not but thinking that it would not hold. From what I've read the PVC needs glue especially formulated for it. The small about of glues ups I've done with PVC I just used the normal PVC glue..

I agree with Floyd. PVC glue with screws. You have a Kreg Jig?

There is a local decking company offering on Craigslist 2 tons of free short pieces. Between 2 to 5 ft. If I could figure a way to do glue ups... That would make some awesome exterior signs!

Bert if there is any left after your picks let me know where it is located. I'm also from Michigan so it should be close to me also.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks Bert. You'll get first picks as you are much closer than me. It will have to wait for the weekend. Hope there will be some left. :)

I think Gorilla glue will work to join with biscuits.

Myself I thought i would experiment PVC pipe glue. Use acetone as a primer. The purple stuff might make for some interesting effects! LOL If it works we might be able to finger joint them together for longer boards.

That's a good idea also! Sounds like some fun!

PVC glue is the only way to go. Also, stick with all of the same materials. If you combine wood with PVC, they have different amounts of expansion and contraction and no matter what glue you used it would not hold even if you did find a glue that would hold temporarily. Hope this makes sense to you.

You can use the PVC glue from the plumbing section, but if you do you only get a couple of seconds to get it lined up right. There should be some glue in the same isle as the pvc boards in the store that is formulated to give you about 10 minutes before it sets. It comes from the same manufacturer as the boards themselves. (Azak at home depot, I can't remember which Lowes carries) It doesn't need purple primer and therefore cures without a color issue. It is not expensive and I would suggest you use that. i have used it with good results.
