I'm looking for a good teddy bear pattern that is something like the picture posted here. Doesn't need to be this one, just something close, with good detail. Going on the lid of a hope chest. Thanks!

Thanks ktjwilliams, but I already had those off the sharing depot and the customer wasn't digging any of them. Appreciate your response though!

Morning, My friend,

here's another Teddy Bear - of a slightly different take. MPC is of the Teddy Bear side of the box.

(Anything to get you off of carving Chicken Hawks!!)

Hey keninar! Have you carved this? Do the 45 deg. mitres work? How accurate is the joint?

Yup, carved the box as a Christmas present for my grandson's first Christmas - Barrett, hence the "B" and the bears. The opposite side from the bear in the pic is a Winnie the Pooh vector bear - w/butterflies.
The miters worked quite well - thanks to Mr. Lamb (once I understood the parameters. Here is the thread where I become enlightened

http://forum.carvewright.com/showthread.php?22099-45-degree-miters-for-a-box
Sides and lid were carved in cherry with the std carving bit - and it was smooth enough that I didn't even have to sand prior to gluing the joint.
My Thanks and ALL the credit go to Mr. Lamb.

Well now I find out the want it to be a care bear, the one with a heart on it's tummy. Anyone ever done that one?

Can anyone fix this one? I tried but end up with "holes" in a few spots. Need lots of detail. There won't be any painting and it will be in oak so detail is important or it won't show right.

Would like to thank bjbethke for posting the care bear pattern. I used it to make this sign for a coworker of mine, who is having his first child this month. This is the first time i used both stain and paint in a sign together. Hope they like it!87682

Thanks for the kind words! I gave it to my coworker today and he liked it. He sent his wife a photo and she loves it.
