I just spent the last two hours on a pattern after I have gotten through it, its telling me that I can't set the board to my dimensions it' pre-set I think.. I pulled it of the net and made the pattern is there a way to size it ? it is to big of a file to send via though the forum. the size that it is telling me is 5.5 x 5.5. And of coarse I would like it bigger...!!

Are you doing this in Designer or the Pattern Editor?

opps, sorry, import tracing file.

I am guessing that you are tracing a pattern using the Import Tracing Image. If so, the board size is determined when you import the image and cannot be changed later. You have to copy and paste all of your work to a regular board. Select all and copy. Create a new project and paste.

Looks nice. I got a message about duplicate vertices when I opened it. 10 of them. They can cause problems and you should delete them. Use the remove vertex tool once you have found them. To find them, write down the coordinates from the error message and then find them using the mouse coordinates in the lower left Designer window. (They could have come from double clicking with snap to grid on when you were tracing.)

bergerud, when trying to get the extra nodes or vortexes is there an easier way to pinpoint them I can see what you are saying, on the numbers when you pinpoint them how do you delete it?

I read your post to fast I do see what you mean. I'm back at the pattern trying to fix it thanks!!!

all right I give up till I understand this better, what I don't understand is how to delete the vertex, thought I did but I don't, so Instead of being so sure of myself I'm stepping back looking down, scraping the floor with my feet... and back to being humble.....lol

went back to my pattern, and so far I deleted two of the vertex's it makes me wish I didn't push the button so much but I wanted to ad that I figured it out... thanks again bergerud.. have you ever thought about wearing a cape.....lol

I went though my pattern....Whew....that was time consuming... thank you bergerud for the information. I learned a little bit more again today. I had other patterns that has come up like that, luckily I had no problems with them. So this is the out come of my cowboy & cowgirl...yeepeeeee...

Nice job. Those multiple vertices turn up quit a bit in DXF imports. There, with huge numbers of vertices, it can really be time consuming. It would be nice if they could flash or at least be a different color. (The program should just eliminate them for us!) I have seen many cases where they screw things up and cuts go off the board.

now that you have pointed that out I'm glad that I had no problems with earlier patterns now if that happens again I'll know what to do I cannot thank you enough!!
