Just wanted to share the latest portrait it's on poplar depth.080 height 100, golden mahogany stain,light sanding until picture shows up
this is from a scaned picture of may parents 53 years ago.

That looks very good, I need to try some of that one day, they always say find your own "niche", my problem is I have too many "niches".

Very well done! Their image shows up great, I would say you have got the technique figured out. I made a couple of attempts before the conference but did not have the right steps figured out and have not given it a shot since seeing Jo's presentation at the conference.

I agree with Perry. Need to set a side some time for this type of carving.
I need to try one of these.
You did a wonderful carve and finish on the portrait.
