Make default for project option

I'm wondering why the "make default for project" option in the cutting dialog doesn't do exactly that. The path that is originally set cuts properly, but then the rest on the same project don't.... i.e. max depth of cut per pass. What am I missing? Caused a broken bit and torn belt.

I think the "make default" check boxes are only for the selections above. The max pass stuff is out of the "box" . I agree with you, I get tired of typing 0.25 all the time for max pass depth.

I wish the max pass depth was not just per project but a global option - even better would be global per bit. So many projects I've started cutting something and then realized it's going full depth and had to make a decision on whether to restart or continue and hope things don't break.
