Hello All,

Here are three lithopane’s I did yesterday using the Lithopane viewer.

Lithopane Viewer loaded up on XP fine and on Windows 7 it will not work, itcrashes.

I love the way lithopane viewer works, it takes all the guess work out of the lithopanes.

I also have some text edit problems with the new text tool. These were carved on Cast Acrylic White.

Excellent carvings Robert. Really like the two with the children....they are always such good subjects.

They sure look nice. Did they look that good in the lithopane viewer. Is it WYSIWYG?

Nice looking lithos- thanks for sharing

Did you carve them from 2.001 or 1.187?

Can plexiglass be used for this type of carving?

What you can carve is CAST acrylic. Plexiglass is a brand name which is usually associated with extruded acrylic. They do, however, also make cast acrylic.

Hello SharonB,
I agree that children and I am adding animals are great subjects.

bergerud,

They looked just as good in the lithopane viewer as they do carved, what a nice tool.

Thanks Tom,

Photo's are not as good as I feel they could have been. Been some time since I have done the lito's, just wanted to get them out here.

The Lito viewer is great.

Believe I will reshoot, might then repost.

With the lito view you can not go wrong. It takes the guess work out of it.
My settings are Depth: 0.180 Height: 450

When I first upgraded to 2.0, I had the Lithopane Viewer in the drop down group for wood. I thought it was really great. Today I had a request to carve a Litho and now I don't have it. I have been thru the tool bar accessories and do not see it anywhere. Any help to get it back where it belongs would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you had 2.0xx open or did you have 1.178?

mikemi

It was 2.0. It even shows it in the demo mode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zpahKb8088&list=UU8cIH4Z8WorEtHx4qMoZGzQ&index=5

It should be in the drop down selection box with wood and none...

I agree, but all that is there on mine is wood & none. I would really like to get the litho viewer back.

Just a though,, try the "view", "toolbars", "customize" to see if you can get it back..

You must have openGL 2.1 or higher on your graphics card.

I don't think that can go away.

Floyd,
Thanks, but I have been thru that about a dozen times. The icon for the litho does not even show up in the available items.

Connie,

I have a Gigabyte HD 6450 video card with updated drivers and the openGL ver is 6.14.xx
It was there before, but not now. I don't know if a reinstall would solve the problem or not.

Frustrating to say the least. Yes I would try a re install. I know that I had to activate the texture drop down selection tool when I first installed 2.0.

Thanks Floyd,
I will try the re-install and let you know the results.
Mike

I did the re-install and it lithopane icon still does not appear in the texture dropdown box. I have 2.004 installed.
I fired up my laptop, it is running 2.002, and it appears on it. It is hard to do much on it though as the screen is not near as big.

Still strange... have you tried the customize tool bar? It does have a selection just for the litho view plus the normal texture drop down box.

mikemi

I have been through the customize toolbars a bunch of times. I have went through the 8 different toolbars and all of the available items of each toolbar and I see both the textured and none selections, but I do not see the choice for litho anywhere. I am going to give up on it for today because the Saints will be playing in a little while, and I can't miss them kick butt on the Eagles, hopefully.

Connie,

Is there a possibility that you could run this past the software folks and see if they have any ideas?
I would appreciate.

I will. You are positive it was on the same computer?

If the hardware acceleration is turned off in preferences, no litho viewer. Could that be it?

mikemi

I will. You are positive it was on the same computer?

Very positive. My laptop is still running 2.002 and my PC, the one that has the problem, is running 2.004.
Thanks for talking to them.

Have you been to the preferences dialog? Edit - Prefereces - 3d Graphics. If Graphics Acceleration is off, the litho viewer will be gone.

Dan,

I just changed my settings and sure enough the litho view is gone.. Great catch sir!

For the litho tool to show up the driver needs to support OpenGL 2.1 or higher.
It should report the OpenGL version found in the cwlog.txt
It sounds like you might need to update your video card driver.

Well that was just too easy of a fix. The acceleration was turn off, when I turned it on and restarted Designer, bingo, it was back. I have never been in that area, so the only thing I can think of is that it got turn off when I updated the video drivers.

Thanks to everyone for your help, Floyd, Connie, bergerud and Mark. Dan, when I ran the cwlog.txt it showed me "Detected OpenGL version: 4.200000".
Once again, THANKS.

Mike
