Thanks for all the comments! I'm worried about the show because I don't think I'm going to have enough stuff. It's 3 days and a lot of people. I just don't want to look like such a rookie because I don't have enough inventory. Grrr!!

Here are a couple more necklace cabinets. I built them all at the same time to make it easier, all out of different materials.

63309 Spalted Quartersawn Sycamore with Flamed Birch door panel

63310 Love that sycamore, wild looking stuff!

63311 Red Oak with Mahogany door panel
63312 Black Walnut with figured maple door panel
63313 This is what the insides of all look like, just different colors
63314 Some nicely figured Walnut

The flecks in the sycamore almost look like lacewood.

I agree about the flecks... I have had a couple of nice pieces of lacewood for many years and still haven't found the right project to use them on... Great work on the projects!

I do like that quarter sawn sycamore I have a sycamore tree in the backyard if I cut that down that would fit the busines name of... "Backyayd Woodworking"...lol

A lot of ppl call quartersawn sycamore American Lacewood. It's much easier to work than actual lacewood, sycamore is soft but tough, machines so easy and smooth. We have lots of it around here and the mill I usually get it at has boards up to 20" wide and usually has 16/4 material. And it's cheap, around $2 a bf. I always dig through for the spalted stuff.
