I had a client ask for a carving in HDPE.
Is this material OK in the CarveWright?

Well, I'm beginning to think I didn't make myself clear.
The material I'm referring to is the plastic "wood" they use for decks and outdoor furniture.
My client is making a table and wants part of it carved.

I hope this is enough data to get an answer.
I just don't want to harm my machine by putting something in it that will mess it up.

Azek and new tech wood (home depot) have successfully been carved. Dust collection is important!

If you need larger pieces than the 5 1/2 or 7 1/2" boards availabe at home depot, PVC sign board such as Komatex or Palguard are availible in 4' x 8' sheets from plastic suppliers or possibly a sign shop. The Komatex is very simular to Azec and can
be used outside. Clings to everything must use good dust collection. I just ran a bunch of parts cut from Komatex and will post some pictures under dust collection, Dust Devil Version C, rev. 1

I've carved that stuff before and had no problems,,, Just keep things clear with an air compressor ....
