Well here in Canada we dont have Memorial Day but a co worker shared a photo with me at work.
His grandfather was a member of 16th Battalion in WW1.
The 16th was succeeded by the Canadian Scottish Regiment.
I was a member for 3 years.
The photo came out pretty good using the stock software.
The crest I redid from a photo. I drew the letters and shapes with some desktop publishing software and filled the spaces with various shades of grey. Not 50 of them :grin:
The project was made in pine and took just over 5 hours of carving. It is 8" x 24"
I havent decided on the finish yet. I may use tung oil. or I may paint a brass basecoat and add a patina.
