Tucson Police Badge in Walnut

I made the following for a friend who is (obviously) a Tucson police officer. It is carved in Walnut and is a hair under 14 inches high. To design the pattern I used a picture I found online, used the 2d tools to trace major effects, puffed them with the 3d puffing tool, cleaned things up with the pattern editor, and then added text using the designer software. It really is nice to be able to create true patterns using the Carvewright software suite. The side view actually gives a good view of how much depth there is... about .6 from bottom to top... it really does have a nice look to it IMHO.

Hopefully my friend likes it, it was fun to make. It took about 2 hours to do the computer designing and the carve itself was approximately 4 hours on my Carvewright (on best setting)
