Scanning Probe with Pattern Editror

I'm considering getting a scanning probe, do I have to wait till my probe comes in order to be able to activate the pattern editor ?
Also, thank all you people for you help, you make this journey a lot more enjoyable :)

The editor should be just like buying a pattern or centerline text.

Like the keyhole bit, you have to wait until you get it in the mail. The code will come with it.
