I am getting check board sensor. I have a "C" machine and 63 hrs. Just finished a 15 hr carving and was starting a new carving and keep getting this error.
I have blown out everything. Took the front cover off and blew all out there also. Have checked the test board sensor and it seems to be working, Cleaned the lense.
check the X test and get A=114.37 M=172.98 - head pressure is 80.
These where all the test I got from different forums postings.
I have another machine with over 600 hrs so I am not new to this machine.

Watch video to know exactly where to blow into sensor and crank it up to about 80 psi. If it is a dark or variated colored board use masking tape. Consider a DC insert to help with dust.

I have seen where to blow and now have done it a couple times. Both my machines have the newer insert from Floyd. I have tried a couple different woods and also have tried the tape thing.

What reading do you get with the board sensor check on light wood? 50, 150?

light pine getting 20

20 is not good... But the standard test is a sheet of white copy paper on the board cranked down.... Then 156 is best and 90 is a dirty lens... The 20 is the reason....

Well, that is the problem. Either the sensor is obstructed by sawdust or it is just dying. Maybe you should remove it to get a good look at it. If cleaning it does not work, you will have to get a new one. (You might do a trouble shooting switch with your other machine.)

The board sensor is under the carriage. See the tech doc:

Thanks but I know where it is just put a new one on the old machine. I took the sensor off cleaned it and it still only shows 25. tomorrow will trade the one with the old machine.
If this is the problem do I have to go thru all this with the tech so they can send me a new one for the warrenty machine which this is

They have to ask all the questions and document for warranty approval. If other one works and you know all connections were solid, it's pretty obvious. Mention this thread and give them a chance to read it. May speed things up.

NOW went to carve and get the famous 06-0313. Checked everything all wires are plugged and tight. When I do the test on the Z it shows the code 06-0313 nothing happens. when power isn't on everything moves fine by hand.

Check the FSC Cable and be sure it was not pulled out slightly and loose... It provides power to the Z.

Since you were messing with the board sensor cable, it is possible you pulled it down and it has cut the insulation on the sharp edge.. Check numbers again.... If machine fails to home you can unplug the top and try again so see if with the cable un plugged the machine homes.

When you turn the machine on and start a project, does the Z go up and down then the Y left and Right?

I checked the FSC unplugged and plugged back. When I turn the machine on it doesn't move at all. No up or down or back and forth

Then try un plugging the board sensor cable on the top connector and try again.... See picture... Could be shorted on the sharp edge now...

Changed the circuit board on the z-track head and now all is working fine. Now to call LCR and hopefully get the board and the board sensor so I can get my old machine running again.
