I done this 3-d Image I'm playing with the buttons trying to get a little bit more involved, I wanted to finish with a cut out and did the toggle end points and I thought they were connected but its not letting the cutout feature light up. can some kind sole tell me what I'm doing wrong. I tried to attach the file but its to big.

Try zipping (compressing) the file and up load it as a .zip file

Can you delete irrelevant patterns until you can upload the mpc? (You could maybe change the file extension to .jpg and upload it. We can download it and change the extension back to .mpc.)

Your image is too large, If you have that in the Pattern Editor change the image to 10 inches, It will give you a better pattern and okay the LHR size limit.

this is not what I had originaly, but I'm sure playing with it I'll eventually get it, but I need to still need to know what I'm doing wrong with the cutout. Thanks gentlemen for your help!

Mirror does not work for making closed paths. Undo mirror. Copy, paste, and flip the left half. Now move it to so the end points coincide. Tweak the end points with the mouse to weld them. Now you have a closed curve to cut out.

I was thinking of this recent post, regarding the copy/paste/flip/join:

I did the copy, paste and flip, only in doing so the pattern had distorted, like the one in the tutorial, thought I go back and see how to straiten it out..

I tried it and it worked fine for me. Do you have the snap to grid on?

Okay, 1st of all the right side is a mirror and 2nd you have a 2-rail sweep applied. You can't join the two halves together in either of these cases. I fixed it by removing the 2-rail sweep and then deleted the mirror. Copied and pasted the left side and then flipped it horizontally and re-positioned it on the right side. Then I re-applied the 2-rail sweep. Next I pasted the left side in again and deleted the two end vertices at the top and bottom. Copied, Pasted and flipped again. moved the copy to the right side and joined the two halves with straight lines. I used this shape for the cutout.
