cut out patterns

Is there any way to import a scroll saw pattern and then select the cut out areas within the patterns?

I think you would have to import the image and make it into a pattern. then, hit the outline pattern button. After that, choose the paths and as long as they are closed, you can cut them out. I'm sure there is a much better way to do it than this way. Others will chime in. It's very easy with the 2d and 3d software that I purchased and LOVE THE NEW SOFTWARE!!! lol

I do it all the time. I simply import into Coral and use the line tool to outline then save to DXF and import into Carvewright

Do you use tabs or tape to hold the inner cut out pieces? Or do you cut shallow and sand off the bottom skin to un hook the parts?

I tried tape but some pieces still came out and got under the rollers....
