I know this has been ask before, but can't seem to find it. But what is the best way to do 3D letter cut outs and words?

You could use a big thick font and lay it out on the board. Set a feather radias to it. And click on Pierced Carve button and set the height to whatever looks good to you. You can space the letters in the text dialog box further apart from each other.

Then use the Line segment tool to draw out some lines that you would like to turn into tabs. Then click the Place Tabs button to bring up the Create Tabs dialog box.

Then cut out the letters after its done carving.
