Looking good Clyde! I am glad to see you finally got that first one to carve right! What was the problem there again?

When I replaced the cut motor brushes, the problem went away. The brushes were worn to about 1/3 the original size. Lesson learned for me.

I for one truly understand. I battled a bad armature for a month. At the end I was going through a set of brushes an hour... I started getting weird behavior like "fatal error", Z-stalls, y-stalls. I came to realize the problem is actually the savior for your cut motor. The "tether" is short enough to prevent the brushes from wearing away completely. preventing the Metal springs from gouging the armature. Problem is... when they wear down until the tether holds them away from the armature, creating a gap like a spark-plug. You all remember when you car didn't have resistor ignition wires or spark plugs. You could "hear" your engine through your radio! That is EMI, Electro-magnetic interference. It will cause all kinds of havoc with the Carvewright computer.

Very impressive web site too. Your carvings are fantastic. Do you have the 2d & 3d tools? Looks like it in some of your carvings on your web site.
