I fond the pattern somewhere on the forum, but I can't seem to locate it now. It was called Heart Box and listed as a a basic project and the author was Steve Nelson. I can send you a copy as I believe it was a free one, if you can't find it. Let me know.

I wish to Thank you for this project. I enjoyed making it. It was to be a suprise for my wife. But she walked into my shop as I was working and snooped around and saw it. She has fallen in love with it.

Flocking is a material such as felt but comes in fine particles. You put acrylic paint on the inside of the box, and while it is still wet you blow the flocking into the paint. Let it dry and shake out the excess. Look at woodcraft or just search for flocking on the internet. I use the can with the small hole and pump the can spraying the flocking where I want it inside the box.

There are other methods of applying the flocking material too.

I buy it at Rockler. It is easy to use. Just need to work quickly and be patient

She has fallen in love with it. You're quite welcome. I had a lot of fun designing the entire project in the Carvewright Designer too!

Try Woodcraft or Rockler. They have tutorials as well.

It's sometimes called faux suede.

I just did my first "flocking" this past weekend. It was very simple. I purchased the 1/2" disposable glue brushes as recommendation of a friend. Worked well with the medium viscosity flocking paint you put on first. And then just throw away the brush. Good luck. Will add a professional touch to the boxes you make.
