I have a 6" circle, I want to put 4 -1/2 holes 1/4" dp with a rounded bottom.
Can you use a 1/2" bull nose bit? and how do you make it plundge down in 1 position
then move to the next position. getting back to basics.

One way to do that is:

Draw four tiny circles...manually assign the 1/2" BN. Example MPC attached...

Michael, your mpc was great. at first I couldn't understand how you did it but after a while
I understood the logic. I couldn't move the circles until I zoomed in very very close to
get the move arrows, then it worked.
Now I get the logic and was able to reproduce the circles myself.
I'm going to try a test carve tomorrow.
Thanks again.

Here is the results of the 1/2" hole test, this worked great, this is a great little trick to know.
Sine there is no plunge command to get the bit to go down and return up again, MT's tip work great.

Did you set the max depth or just let the machine do its own thing?

I set the depth to 1/4".

Setting the depth is your plunge command. I don't know why you would need to draw a circle, just use a straight line command , click and click again ,let off without moving, set your required bit , depth and go. Another way would be use the drill function, substitute the 1/2" bit for the 1/8" bit , use 1/8" hole diameter, 1/4" depth , but this may be a little too fast feed.

Thank you Dan, now we have 2 ways to complete the same function, 1 straight line of .016 length
and a circle with a dia. of .016 also using a 1/2" bull nose bit.
This is what so good about this forum.
