I have noticed that several forum members are either in the military, or prior service military, so I thought i would share this pattern I just put together. I plan on cutting this out and using brass S hooks to attach the base names under the main piece. Seems like it would be something an Army wife would buy for her home!

As always please feel free to tell me if something in the pattern doesnt look right. I plan to carve this probably this weekend and will post picks of it finished.

Nice design Kevin,

I'm sure that will be used widely. Don't know that I can afford all the wood and hooks it would take to cover my 31 years. Thanks for your service.

Kevin,

Great concept and thought behind the design!

If I was doing this or something similar I would make the depth setting on the text the same as the caver regions. As is with two different depths the text stand very tall and some letters seem to be on the thin side and might tend to chip at the top. Also see how it looks to you by making the draft medium to thicken the letters just a bit more. Rotate and zoom to view the setting changes as you do them to see the effect.

Just thought I would post a test carve... havent had much time to get to this project. I am finding that getting to my projects are more difficult than one would think. After people find out what you can do, you end up doing stuff for everyone else! Then when I do get time for my projects, I get too many ideas and dont know where to start! This thing is pretty addicting!

That is pretty cool. It would take a lot of signs for all the places I was stationed too but that's an awesome idea!
