Can anyone point me to instructions/tutorials showing how to make inlays using the CW? I did a search and found only one thread; though, it wasn't what I was looking for.

Thanks,

I'm not sure anyone's figured it out.

routing a groove and then filling with fluid (or epoxy) material (like my "inlay") is easy, but I think what you are wanting to do is create "nesting" inlays... this is something that has been on my mind for a while now but I haven't actually tried it yet or seen anyone else do so.

I'll let you know if I see something though,
Lawrence

I am doing some pocket cuts for a guy who is insetting some plaster ovals/hearts in the pockets. I had to scan the pieces to make the patterns. Lots of test cuts to get the pocket size set right and even then there are some small gaps.

Inlays are not hard once you layout the work. I like to use the 1/16" carving bit to cut out the mortise and then cut the inlay part flipped this makes a wedged fit.
