So this is my first weekend with my machine, and I am in love with it! I have done 6 carvings and wanted to share my first two completed carvings. I wish I could give credit for the inspiration to whoever it came from, but unfortunately I do not remember who it was. I was perusing the gallery when I seen a project I liked, and that project lead to these! So whoever you are out there who gave me this inspiration, if you see my projects I wanted to thank you! Additionally I wanted to thank everyone on the forum who has helped me with any questions I have had, this forum rocks!

The first carving is one that I made for my wife for Valentine's Day (she gets it early!), and the loooong one is one I made as a going away gift for one of the families we got really close to during thier tour here at Fort Bragg, they have 6 children! Both of these signs are more or less prototypes for V Day, hopefully I can sell a couple and start paying for the machine a bit!

Please feel free to offer advice and critique! I have tough skin and welcome the oppertunity to improve!

I wish my first carvings came out that good, those are great! Being on active duty you should have no shortage of projects. Wish I would have gotten my machine before I retired now I'm 900 miles from my old unit.

Scoobie,

If you place text on top of text and set thier heights to different levels, it will layer the text for you.

JuicyCarp would you mind posting one of your MPCs, not that want to use you project, I like to study your techniques of stacking lettering,
so I can maybe use them in a later project of my own. I will store up those techniques up in my memory bank for the futher,
the only problem I have is remembering where in the hell I put my memory bank.
Thanks for showing us your work, you are doing a very good job.

Scoobie,

The lower text depth is .250, and the height is 100. The higher text depth is .250 and the height is 250. I posted the mpc in a different thread if you would like to use it.

I wish i had a shop! right now I just have my one car garage, and all my tools are sitting on the floor because I dont have any work benches yet! Looks like an elfs shop! But we all have to start somewhere right?

When people see what you produce you might have to give up your day job just to keep up with the orders. All of the projects are beautiful.

Kevin,
You asked for critique and advice so here it is....
Never, never stop carving! Your work is that of a master and you project "eye" is top shelf!
