Just looked at a website called Precisebits.com, anyone heard of it? Anyway they got the 1/16" carving bit we use, and also a 1/32" carving bit? Can our machines use these? They were like $32.00 each.

Problem is they don't have the pressed on CT sleeve. You would need access to a press to push out ole bits and press in new.

True, but if you don't have a CT, then no problem :).

If you have a rock or QC you are in there. That's where I get mine.

I can use any size shank from 1/16 " to 1/2 " no adapters, no presses none of that ...... I can ballnose endmills (carbide) in many sizes and a lot cheaper then what I see folks having to pay,, and There made in the USA .. The last bit I bought, A 3/16's ballnose, I paid $ 8.00 for it with free shipping.. I have a converted ER20 and ER11 spindle for the machine... The spindles cost bout $ 15 when I bought mine on EBay.. Took bout an hr on a metal lathe and that was it... No big expense with new trucks, dedicated bits and adap[ters Etc.. These spindles run smoother and quieter then anythings else I have seen or heard.. They are much better balanced too... They save lots of money and give me so much more flexibility... Dan Bergenrud has a set of detailed instruction up here on the forum for making ur own .. I would say just do the ER20... Get a better set of collets for it from SHARS.. The ER11 was Dan's first test spindle and it worked fantastic, the only problem was the ER11 only allowed a max shank of 1/4" where the ER20 allows for all sizes upto 1/2"...
