I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed a difference in dust collection when carving mahogany? I just finished a 7 hour carve on a 12" wide mahogany board and my collection system didn't pick the chips off the surface very well and there was a good bit that stuck on the Y rail and else where in the machine. Didn't cause any problems, but I don't have this problem with other materials.

On another note with this project, I made a small error while moving the truck out of the way during set up and released the bit out of my QC, which dropped on to the board.... my freshly oiled adapter. I had hoped the oil spot would carve out but it did not. Now what do I do? Stain and hope it covers it? Got a silver doller size oil stain on a beautiful mahogany carving. Any suggestions?

Denatured alcohol. It evaporates quickly. So you can tell if you got it. Repeat until your sure.
