Took that about an hour ago (9pm-ish) and it's still coming down at a brisk pace - fortunately had nowhere to go tomorrow! :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas - now on to New Year's Day!!!!

We have no snow at all, which is very strange for here. We've had two storms of about and inch each which melted away with rain afterward. Our average seasonal snowfall is 6 feet. Supposedly a storm is coming in tonight, however.

We have a couple of inches here in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with more on the way today (2" to 4"). Heading to my homeland in the Upper Peninsula on Saturday for about 10 days. They have a foot or more and expecting a lot more :). We don't have a lot planned, so a major storm or two will make the fireplace feel even that much better....
Should be a good New Year celebration.....

We visited the UP in September, all the way across and down into WI, beautiful area. Got introduced to pasties, visited the amazing Kitch-iti-kipi springs at Palm Book State Park, and met some great people at the Seul Choix Point Lighthouse.

brdad,
Glad you enjoyed the trip and the pasties. Many folks don't get the pleasure of trying pass-tees although pace-tees can mean a story or two. I was born and raised on the far west end of the UP...almost as far west as one can go. It is beautiful country and I can't wait to get up there on Saturday. I hope to get to Maine at some point. I have several freinds from Maine and it sure sounds like a beautiful state as well....

David , Looks like you may have a little shoveling to do. Do ya own a snow shovel being from Ark.? Have fun but don't overdo it.

Have two of them - the aluminum one is getting worn out. (We usually get one good snow a year that requires clearing of some sort.) Right now, it looks like the sun is doing a pretty good job of taking care of clearing the driveway - if I decide to try and help it along I'll bug my brother to borrow his tractor with a blade. If I get real desperate I'll dig out the shovels. ;) In years past, I'd just hook the blade up to the old Ferguson - but he's been a little under the weather:

Going to be a while before I finish rebuilding - at least I finally have the engine on a stand so I can work on it... ;)

Mathman. Great pics. Beautiful snowfall. I'm just outside of LR and have had no power since 10pm last eve. Fortunately, I've saved my CW mistakes along the way-and they work great in the fireplace! Entergy is saying a minimum of 2days, perhaps as many as 7until they can restore. Was hoping for a bit of shop time this vacation, but we'll have to see how it plays out. Thanks for, posting. First Christmas snowfall in over 80 years around here.

Last count I heard was at noon and they were saying 181,000 people around the state still out of power - the Little Rock area probably accounts for most of that. I'm up in Conway County and the last 'white' Christmas here was in the 1970s from what my brother was saying yesterday. Hope power will be back on for you and everybody else affected soon!

58096We got about 4 inches just in time for a white Christmas. Thought there for awhile we wouldn't have a white Christmas this year. Even had this youngster stop by to say Merry Christmas.

Here are a few pics from 4 years ago. Once the snow started we had over 3 feet the next morning. The big white pile with the black antanna sticking out was my Mustang convertable. Glad I didn't leave the top down! LOL

Hey Terry, it is snowing here in New England right now (as we watch the Kennedy Center Honors) and its about time!
Now to show you my latest cribbage board ... which I couldn't show before Christmas ... I love the whimsey of this board. It is fashioned after my neighbor's handlebar mustache and I've named it, Johnny's Stache, after him.

Our fish pond is frozen and snowed over except for the bubbler and small heater -- 20 deg last night and going down to 18 tonight
I measured 10" for new snow on the back deck this morning -- I tried to get a photo of the pups playing in the snow
but all I got was the tips of their noses and tails. But really fun to watch!

Still wearing shorts here in Tucson during the day- (chilly at night though) - we can see snow on the mountains around Tucson though and if we want to see it closer it is about a 40 minute drive away.

Not to rub it in though... ;)

Different place in mass, cape cod. We have had rain, (liqurid sunshine) since last night, no snow yet, just a few flurries.
