View Full Version : Can one identify the bit used in a pattern?

Let's say one downloaded a pattern from the pattern sharing forum. Is there a way to determine which bit(s) were used when this pattern was created?

Rationale here is not to go too far with a pattern, only to realize at carving time that it calls for a bit I do not have.

Thanks in advance for the guidance.

If it is a raster (pattern) then the bit should be the 1/16" carving bit, you can verify by going to the board settings and look at the "pattern bit" settings. For vector/line carves select/highlight the line and the bit icon should be highlighted. Click on the bit and it will show what bit has been assigned, the depth and if any maximum pass has been selected.

If you go to the "view" tab and at the bottom of the list is "carving list". When selected it will open the carving list to show all items that have been placed on the board. Selecting each is sometimes easier than trying to select them on the board...
