Cannot figure out how to raise pattern

Been using the CW for a while and now working on a address sign for my family members. My issue is when I add the plaque pattern to my board the pattern is being carved .008" where I will be using centerline text. This is carving my stain & shelf liner off defeating the purpose of staining first. Anyone have any suggestions for a work around?

Sorry I started the thread from iPad. Will switch to the pc so I can attach mpc.

One solution would be to put one ot two cards (business or playing) on the project where the bit finds the surface.
This will tell the machine that the surface is higher than it really is so it won't actually carve as deep.

Forgot about the card trick. I use that trick for my scanning probe all the time. Thanks for the reminder.
