I'm sure there is something on here somewhere, but this forum is so big it's hard to find exactly what you are looking for sometimes. Anyway, I'm wondering how you can tell by feel when the flex cable is properly lubricated? I just got a new one, which is supposed to already be lubed (not saying it's not, I believe you LHR), but it hardly feels like there is anything on there.

There won't be excessive lube on the shaft. This is to prevent any excess lube from making its way into the bearing on the spindle or the cut motor.

When you use the new shaft monitor it for heat. You may have some heat build up at the beginning but that should go away after a few carves.

They are lubed, spun to get off excess and hung to drip dry. Penetrating lube. U should feel excess on outside. I'll try to take a photo next time. Quit a sight.
