Bit Depth

Sorry me again. I get the message "Bit depth does not match" when I use the 90 degree V bit.
I have seen this somewhere but can not find it now. I do have the plastic coller on the bit and I have tried to move it up and down with the same message .:-( Can someone PLEASE help

Sometimes that will occur when you have the plastic stop collar and the split collet, The machine is asking to continue or re-define if I am not mistaken. You can press continue and it should perform as you desire.

What happen is that you don't have the 90 degree bit exactly as it was when first measured - that is why the message occurs.

This happens when I first put the bit in as per machine request. I have tried it several differant ways and get the same message.

Put the stop collar all of the way down to the shoulder of the bit and then put the split collet all the way down to the stop collar. This is assuming you are using the CW bits.

Also make sure the bit plate is coming out all of the way and the bit is touching on the flat area of the bit plate.

So it occurs during the initial bit load before starting the project not when requested during the project, would that be correct?

That is correct during the initial bit loading. I have told it to continue but the words carve like scratches, not deep enough to carve.

Does the bit touch the bit plate when you load it?

Floyd had mentioned about the bit plate making sure it came out fully during the bit load and to make sure the bit touches it

I'm having the same problem with the 60, sleeve and stop collar.

Make the z truck is not sticking and moves freely up and down, if it does not clean the Z roller bearings and Z rails. Make sure during the initial load the the bit touches the bit plate.
