Hello,

Here is a preview of the next Project of the Month (for DECEMBER 2012)... The Christmas Tree Dish!
Just in time for the Holidays! The Christmas Tree Dish is a quick and easy project to use for holding “goodies” for the holidays in your own home or to make and give as gifts to loved ones! The project uses just the 1/16" Carving Bit and the 1/8" Cutting Bit. No other bits are required.

The completed Christmas Tree Dish is about is about 8.5" x 10" x 1.5" tall.

Main Items you will need...

1) The Project Files (included):
• Tree_Sections.mpc

2) Boards with the following dimensions:
Tree Sections: 0.75" x 11" x 29"

NOTE: Do not use boards that are smaller than specified above unless using an appropriate jig.

3) Sandpaper, glue, stain and/or paint and clear finish

4) A Dremel-type rotary tool with assorted sanding wheels and bits to sand small details and speed up preparation for finishing.

Apply stain/paint and clearcoat of your choice.
Here’s what I used on my Christmas Tree Dish made from Select Pine:
• Rust-Oleum Ultimate Stain - Traditional Cherry
• Bulls Eye Spray Shellac clear top coat

Very nice Michael. As I recall December is a good 3 or 4 months away, so there is plenty of time:( Don't know why it has been so cold for September!

Ha! I WISH I could move back in time! BTW, I will be out of the country for a couple weeks (leaving this afternoon) ...I will return on Dec 7th (back in the office on Dec 10th), so my internet capabilities will be spotty during my travels.

how do you get from picture 2 to 3? Does the carvewrite cut the outside. This looks great. Do not have my machine yet but it is on its way. Looking forward to being part of the carvewrite community

Never thought about it today. Guess I'm in denial that it is actually December. Try to get out tomorrow.

Which list? Licensed projects or Pattern library?

I am having the same issue. When I tried to update the license, there was a box to check as available, but no title associated with the box. I checked it anyway and proceeded as normal, but the tree dish doesn't show as an approved project. It ends with the project from November... For clarification, the box that has no title comes up under Patterns....

OK...it is fixed now. Update Licenses and it should be there. Evidently, there is a new step that was missed and it has been completed.

A BIG thank you Connie.

Last night I was asking myself what I was doing wrong.

Happy now it works and I have it now Licensesed.

As always your ######### 1 which rates as a 10.

Good point rickyz,

One just needs to change the bit a assignment.

I am glad you said that, I had not thought about that.

I know that all POM are set only to use the two bits that are standard with the machine.

I am going to do one for our Christmas party here at work. Ever year I have made something and the office people
get a number and we have a drawing to see who winds. So that is what I am going to do with the one I carve.

You're welcome, but the thanks should really go to Metallus for fixing it.
