You sure can! to PAUSE a carving just press the STOP button ONE TIME. You should get a display saying "press start to continue or stop to abort".
When pausing a carve for a length of time I always open the clear cover to insure that it does not inadvertently restarted or stopped...

How long of a carve can you run without lifting the clear cover to allow the machine to cool down? I am running a 5 1/2 hr. project and don't want to overheat it. I am thinking after every 2 hours? What are anyone's thoughts?
Thanks, Ernie H.

Do you have any dust collection for the machine? If so let it carve and just monitor the heat of the flex shaft and carve quality..

Agree, let it run. I've gone 8+ hours.

In the blazing summer I have done some 12 and 13 hr carves. Just watch your flexshaft. My dust collector gave out before the cw even started sweating.
