This is a beautiful formal serving tray project. Project includes two MPC's, one for the base and one for the handles. Instructions included to build this beautiful serving tray. Easily build in a weekend. This will make a perfect wedding gift. Also a great seller at craft fairs and trade shows. Build out of any type of wood you like. This is a project for the beginner to intermediate woodworker and you should have a router table and table saw. Project comes with the Cardinals in tree branches only (shown below). Other patterns shown ARE NOT INCLUDED You can, however, add any pattern you like also.

Those are gorgeous!

Is there any issue with the "surface" not being level? (crooked plates etc) or are the carvings so shallow that it doesn't really matter?

Great job again and I'm sure they will sell very well indeed

Thanks guys.

Lawrence I use 1/8 inch plexiglass cover over carvings for flat surface to carry things and still able to see the carvings.

I have been wanting to try inverting the patterns and use epoxy. Has anyone ever tried this? The concept just lends itself well to a project as classy as this. That is a beautiful tray Terry!

I have used epoxy to make a tray. It wasnt inverted but I dont know why it wouldnt work.

Never thought about not inverting them. Just use epoxy to replace the wood you carved away! LOl

I have not had a lot of experience with epoxy. But i will be doing concrete countertops soon, and coat them with epoxy.

Hi Barry,
With the cost of walnut and cherry going up so much lately, I have added Alder to my list of prefered woods. The walnut tray in the photo is Alder with walnut stain. It is much less expensive and looks very nice. I still do a lot of walnut and cherry but Alder is a very good hardwood alternative. The other photos show pine trays. They look great also, just a little more rustic than formal.
I Hope you enjoy the project. If you need anything, give me a call.
