I am trying to make an arrow head pattern.
I am trying to figure out how to make the edges taper more like this one in the picture.

How would I do it or what would i need to search to figure out how to do it?

I plan on using walnut and maple glued to together to the thickness, just need to find out how I can get the edge effect into the pattern.

Thanks for any help

Looks like i won't be purchasing if i am looking at it correctly, $200 for the Pattern Modeling Suite (3D Advanced)

is there anyway to acheive the same effect without the extra software?

John, It seems alot to look at, but a very useful tool. When you can it's worth it.

I played around some more with the arrowhead and made it into a pattern. Unfortunatly you cannot edit it now that it is a pattern.

Thank you,
That looks like it will work real good.
IF I owe you for the pattern let me know how much I owe you for creating it.

It may be a week or so before I can get it carved I will post it when I do carve it.

Thanks
John

Is there anyway to make it taper all the way to the bottom of the pattern?

Looks very nice. When I started playing with the arrow head, I was thinking double sided and so, I only went halfway with the edge. It could have been made all the way. You could also have changed the depth. Isn't that all academic now that you have it carved?

John should get all the credit for this nice design. I just added a simple sweep to the outline of his shape. (The new Pattern Modeling Suite made it too easy for me to deserve any credit. )

Henry, it is not my pattern, it is John's. The pattern is, however, attached to post #10.

Bergerud,
That pattern wouldn't of been possible with out your help.

Here is another shot with sanding sealer on it.

My favorite part of any project is when you start applying a sealer and/or clear finish and the character of the wood really shows.

The more finish the deeper the grain looks .Nice piece of wood.

What do you use for sanding sealer? I usually use shellac.
