Thank you for the encouraging words. It is all one piece of wood and I did the painting myself. This one was commissioned by my son as a wedding present for his Russian teacher. Of course he asked me Saturday and the wedding was today.

Very nice...correct me if I am wrong, but aren't icons such as this traditionally carved from one solid piece of
Wood? Either way, awesome job.

Jdlink: I think they are all carved from one piece of wood. I've only seen one Icon from wood but I've seen several pictures.
