Howdy! I'm a rookie on "webdings", but they look like they'd be fun/quick to carved with a 90V bit (versus raster carvings with a 1/16th bit). Do you know where to find a batch of webdings (downloadable, or buy a disc) of wildlife (moose, elk, bear, etc), trees (oak tree, pine trees, etc), recreational (boating, golfing, etc) that would carve well with a 90V bit? We'd like to carve some trim boards for our lake house. Thanks for much for your help!

Well, webdings (or dingbats as they are often known) are literally all over the place on the 'net for free. A good source for these free fonts is here
http://www.dingbatdepot.com/

and here
http://www.fontspace.com/category/animals

and finally here
http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=710

there are literally hundreds of free sites out there... it does take some searching to find them but they exist.

Another method of using 90 or 60 degree bits as a "vector" carve instead of a "raster" carving is to use software such as coreldraw to export a DXF and then use the DXF importer. This is how I did the outlines for my plinko game pieces, background, and the newest facade (links here)

I hope this helps, and if you are interested in finding out how to do the DXF import with coreldraw, please let me know and I'd be happy to explain more.

Thank YOU Lawrence. Very appreciated. I'll look in to these. So are dingbats the same at webdings?

Yes, webdings are the name of the Microsoft version of dingbats - kind of like saying that Kleenex are a type of facial tissue.

Hope this helps,
Lawrence
