any one know how the crank gear is replaced

Ck before replacing that ,you may have to much lube on the washer.

Before you replace the handle gear a cleaning and inspection of the whole gear train should be done. The Head must be checked for level as a un level head will bind... The Jacking Screws will fill with sawdust as will the head threads. A Cleaning with penetrating oil is a cure for dirty threads and the inner surfaces of the smooth rail bearings. Also look at the 2 90 degree gears at the bottom of the machine, you may find the gear area full of sawdust...


And last, the handle has a slot that it slides into as you tighten the screw once it bumps up to the shaft you turn the handle until it falls into the slot and continue to tighten...
