Box I just made, its not put together or finished yet. The pieces are just sitting there. It was made out of poplar, so it pretty fuzzy but its the first box I made so I was using it as a test. It might look a little better after I clean it up.

I did miter them, and I used my table saw to do them.

Thanks Aaron,
There is a mitre function on the CarveWright, has any buddy used it? If so how does it work?

Where is that function, I looked for it but didn't see it right off the bat.

It is on the keypad, I beleive it says "Mitre". I not by my machine right now so I can not verify that.

It has several functions like miter, joint, and crosscut. But if you have a table saw, mitre saw, or jointer use those because this machine is designed for carving and those machines are designed for the other functions.

There are only two types of tools in this world: The right tool, and a tool that can also do the work. The right tool used properly will always give the right results.

That's just my view on the situation.

The CW can do a lot of cutting functions, however if you have a table saw or other full size equipment you'll tend to still use those for cutting, it's just faster. The CW was created mostly for it's carving ability, everything else is just a bonus.

I have used the miter function. It works very well, but slow. The work piece must also be larger than the minimun size, which in some cases if you are creating a small box, it's not.

on a box do you build the box & then carve or carve & then build?

Very nice, Aaron! I really like it.

I want to attempt a box soon, but been so busy, I haven't had time to do work on my projects!!

If only there were 30 hours in every day, I might get somewhere...

very nice looking box. i have carved 3 of them from carvewright plans.
mine have been from red oak and white oak. i prefer the white oak to be
the better looking of them. i am getting ready to carve 1 from cherry.
