I was asked to "assist" with a heritage-room project for one of the squadrons in my Group. The Commander wanted a representation of all the unit awards that had been historically granted to the 43ECS.
With our budget (very low) we came up with this- #1 pine signs stained with mahogany colored gel stain, painted, lines marked with a paint pen, then all shot with a HVLP loaded with waterbased poly (I like that it won't yellow the ribbons over time and it is much easier to clean up) Carves are all centerline done on my Carvewright using a 60 degree CMT bit.
For size reference, the following picture is on the back of a full-sized Tundra - (the signs are pretty big)
