I just talked to the tech at carvewright, the screw used for holding the bits in stripped out.so their solution is to replace the whole z-truck$159 instead of the $1 screw.I offered to send the truck and have them replace the screw but they wont do that.So now now I have a $3000 paperweight until I order the z-truck

pull the screw and take it to ace hardware- they almost ALWAYS have what I'm looking for. If it is not the screw that is stripped but the thread, then retap it with a tapping kit from HF... they cost about $5

I'll bet someone else around here could help too -

also, did you read this?

You could take it off and take it to a local machine shop, I bet they could fix it for you.

Try and EASY OUT bolt remover. https://www.google.com/search?q=easy+out+tool&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=Ppo&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=-ylOUIyrL8PD2QXL9IDIBA&ved=0CDoQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=679

Pull the truck out and take it to a reputable machine shop. They will be able to get the screw out for you. If it is the chuck that is stripped, they should be able to put a heli-coill in it.Think twice before trying an easyout. If the easyout breaks it just compounds your problem.

They might want to put a larger size screw in it but I am not sure what might happen to a chuck's balance at 20K+ RPMs. Ultimately you may find that replacement of the z-truck might be the very best option.

After thinking about it, when you say stripped, do you mean the threads or the head where the allen wrench goes into it. If it is the head, you might be able to use a small pair of vice-grips to help remove it. - or - sometimes a new allen wrench will give a better fit.

Once you get it out, check here:

before you go after a replacement.

thanks everyone I finally got the screw out and went to my local hardware store-the screw cost 65 cents.alot cheaper than the $159 for a new truck
