I'm creating this for some family members. My wifes uncle past away this week and was a cook in the Air Force. I've used a couple different pieces from other patterns here. Sorry not sure where they were all from I know part was from Jerry's Never Forgotten II. I'd like some differnt opions on how this looks and what can be improved on.

Thanks,
Jeff

I think it really looks great, Jeff. My only comment would be that the name is a little difficult to see. You may want to sharpen it up a bit or perhaps change it to a centerline and use a 60 degree v bit rather than the typical 90 degree. It was very well written and will definately make some folks very proud...

Thanks Bigtime I'll look into getting a 60 degree bit. Sounds like a good suggestion.

Do you have his Air Force rank & "special field" symbol? We call it MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) in Army. Example mine was Communications which was the semaphore or cross flags. If you find his you could also put it on the plaque. Just thinking…

We don't know it but will definately ask to have that added also. Thanks Jerry. Hope you don't mind me using your flag with heart.

Not at all sir. I'm glad you could put it to use. Besides, it's all about the CW family here. I'll go thru some of my other stuff to see if you might want.

I do not like the saying... I would change it to, "To live in the hearts we leave behind, is to live forever." In my humble opinion. If you are going to stain it, you can work the letters you had the first way, by not wiping off the stain too hard around them. Makes them stand out. Also adding draft, the rough draft part absorbs stain better. Here is one I made for my Wife's Uncle's garden. 55106

Badbert thanks that sounds much better. Also thanks for the sample of the words. I had a med draft is that enough or should I use large?

You r welcome. Med is what I used, use what you think is best.

I really think the change to the wording is great....and the letters should stand out well using med. draft. The plaque is really special...
