I wanted to share my current big sign I am working on. It is going to be 46" X 54" . I use 1 inch trim on the edges with end 7" edge on the ends. Each board is a 3 hour carve on draft. The sign will be doubled sided when finished. The edge will be natural with white background. I will post my progress.

Very nice. I love when people ask how big the machine is. They are amazed at how big the end product is in relation to the size of the machine.

Your right Unitedcases, they are amazed when they see my CW and a big sign sitting by it.
RogerB I use Titebond III . Thanks for the comments!

How do you figure what to charge for a big sign? For most of my work, signs or otherwise, I figure about $40 a sqft give or take depending on the wood and complexity. But glued up is another story.

That's a GREAT example of how we can do large projects on our machines that rival those made by much (much) more expensive equipment. Great job, and I can't wait to see if finished

Thanks Lawrence and Clint!
Here is a picture of all the boards cut out. There are a total of 10 boards since it is double sided. Tomorrow I start glueing the boards , then finish routing the border and cut it out.
Clint I charge about $55.00 a foot but add additional due to the complexity. I know that is way to low, my local sign shop that does sand blasting charges $90.00 a sq. foot for 1 1/2" cedar and this is 1". But I feel if I start low I will get more signs and my ability will grow with experience. Then in time I can charge like everyone else does.

Nice carve on the sign Tom,

It looks like Draft carved pretty well.

What is the texture you used on the back ground?

Thanks Guys and your are welcome for the advise!
Robert, I carved all the boards in draft, they look great and the will need very little cleanup. I used the one of the standard one that comes with your cw and changed the size to 1/4". I took Joe's advise from the conference and add background to most of my flat signs it sure give it more class and covers up most flaws in the wood.
