That's funny. Everytime I go in there and ask about the Carvewright they ask who that is...

I bought mine from Lowes in Tennessee several years ago. It was a special order item. I also bought the bit set from them. I saved a lot in shipping cost with store pickup.

Grab the manager! Show him that the price is $1200 new... not $1848. You might get it for 5 or 6! Secret: Never try for a mark down on the weekend. Their's and HD's markdown budget starts on monday, if there is something like this in clearance... go in Monday morning and make them offers. If they say no. Come back in the afternoon with a different manager! Keep bugging them so they are aware how long it sits... You can get some great bargains this way!

I've also ordered the memory card from Lowes and saved on the shipping as well. I paid around $28 for it and when the order arrived at their store (close to my house), they called me to come by and pick it up.
Sad thing is that many Lowes around the nation don't know that they sell the Carvewright. I tried going to mine and offering a free demo to the public with my machine (bringing sales to the store), but the Store Manager had no idea what I was talking about. He told me that they don't let 3rd party vendors do "Demos" in their store and that I would have to notify Corporate Office (North Carolina) for permission to do so. I tried numerous times to let him know that I wasn't a 3rd Party vendor and that ALL Lowes nationwide sell the Carvewright, but he still wouldn't believe it even after I told him to look at the internet showing that in fact they did sell it. I saw I was getting no where with this great Store Manager so I thanked him and left. That real intelligent Store Manager doesn't realize that he could have had some sales which would have brought in more money. I still don't understand why LHR doesn't notify Lowes Corporate office to have them send out a "memo" to ALL Lowes nationwide that they in fact sell the Carvewright AND if approached by a LHR STARTU member, that they have permission to conduct DEMOs in the store which can increase their sales of the Carvewright machine. Oh well.............
