Well, if it's any consolation, the Nasa Hilton is where everyone evacuates to. News crews, weather channel, all my neighbors.

Blame the weather guys here in Arkansas - they just mentioned within the last few days it didn't look like we'd be getting rain anytime soon unless a tropical storm cropped up...

I'm supposed to fly thru IAH on my way home from El Paso this Friday morning.. Maybe/Maybe Not!

And that fellow Forumites would be why your friendly Local FEMA Start U Member will not be able to attend the CW Conference starting this week in Houston.

My turn for Hurricane Response/Recovery Leadership in the watch center. Hope the storm stays far enough offshore to avoid any drama as you noted Connie. But watch the forecasts each day and the cone of probability as we learn more day by day and she decides where to go.

Only Dear John letter came from Debby. One month from coming home. Any chance ya could just dump Debby on central Misssouri? Think we's about 8 inches short for the year:(

Team,

Where I said "where she decides to go" I should share with you that all the different predicted tracks don't yet agree.

Take your pick from the following computer models at this point in time. May evolve from a Tropical Storm to a Hurricane by mid week.

54171

The strongest prediction is shown in the strike cone to the West and North but it's like trying to predict where that tipsy driver in front of you on the freeway is going to go. Hang back and observe, and we'll try to keep you advised as well. Hope you can all enjoy the Conference without disruption and this proves to be a non-event. That's why we're here to lean forward and be prepared just in case.

Thank you, Capt Bruce. We are all watching hourly here.

This will be an interesting couple days to watch!
Reminds me last year a little, LHR was going to have the BBQ outside but it rained for the first time in a while.

I don't mind the rain, so long as it's not Tropical Storm Allison style. We usually go to Lake Travis near Austin after the 4th every year. It is currently higher than it was last year at just 40' below it's average level.

Our angst here is all of the dead trees from the drought. But as you say capt. we will just have to wait and watch. New update should be out soon.

Can't really offer hourly updates Team, but here's the 1100 Sunday projection from the National Hurricane Center. Again watch the cone rather than the 3 to 5 day specific location projections.

Looking at the possible tracks in this second view they still don't agree. One goes right through Houston while another tracks up here through Atlanta and others cross Florida. We'll all watch it develop.

Sorry, I didn't mean from you Capt. I was watching the Weather Channel.

Will the LHR show be canceled? I a little bit swamped to fly into a storm tornado right now.

Not likely. Latest says not going west.

And yet again Debby has changed her mind and now points due North through the Florida Panhandle.

The other computer models still have her going elsewhere but one patiently waits and waits and . . . .

I would like to second Terry's suggestion. We could have a "Big Blow Out Sale".

When Connie says hot and humid, that is an understatement. No one is outside right now unless you absolutely have to be outside. But we do get into the 80's at night. Bring cool clothes! And I don't mean fashionable.
