Hey all... for those of you who remember me I have been fighting IV Stage Lung Cancer since September of last year. I have been through 9 rounds of Chemo to date (still much more to come) but doing great. You would NEVER know I had anything wrong with me (except that I need to get back in the gym HAHHA)! I had to take a break from all things work related for quite awhile but now I am iching to get back into my shop and start making some dust. I appreciate everyone that wrote, prayed, and encouraged me along the way. Last exam Doc said my Kidney is completely restored to normal, my Lymph System back to 100%, and one of the 3 tumors in my liver have compltely healed. The last two have stopped shrinking BUT they are now showing less mass which is a indication that they are dying. My Tumor blood count (CA-19-9) has gone from the original 234,000 to 1,400 and it is still on the decrease. Though most people in my stage are not given the option of surgery (I have to use the VA) because of my relitive overall health, age, strength, and a few other things, Doc feels confient when I plateau I will be up for a surgery to remove the remaining tumors in my liver. GOD IS GOOD! I was supposed to die within 6 months... it has now been 9 moths and I ain't going anywhere! Anyway I know this post is probably in the wrong spot but this is where I always hung out before and I know most who know me are probably going to read it here if anywhere! See you all soon on the board!

Robert, as you mentioned.."without god's intervention". However, that's God you're talking about. he was... is... and always will be. He decides, we follow.... Keep the faith and go as far as he wants. IF he decides its time and its enough, you'll know cause he will let you know. Until then you keep on "keeping on" Amigo. The road may be hard, but he's there every step of the way ... with or without invitation. : ) So... you are in my prayers & I'm sure in many CWers prayers too. Take care, get rest, get tough, & get back to us soon..... we'll be here waitin' on ya... some cussin' at the machine, some smiling, some yelling, but we'll be here Amigo.

This is from Robert's FB page July 14. Keep those prayers going to him!

Don't have much to tell. Treatment for radiation goes through wednesday. Then its going to take them days/weeks to know how I'm responding. As of now I am wheelchair bound for the most part and believe it or nor I'm getting cataracts which means I'm going to have to to have lenses replacement surgery in 5-6 months if all goes good. I hope my brain swelling will go down after treatment ends which will give me balance back.

Hi guys and gals. I just wanted to pop in and give you fine folks an update. The past two weeks have been very difficult because of the swelling in my brain from the tumor that is tring to get grown. I took 30 days of radiation in 10 days and as you can imagine that throws you for a loop. I finished with the radiation on Wednesday and have been feeling better and better since. Balance is still a little issue (im 6'4" and 248 so if I fall it will be a duzzy) the pain is pretty much gone unless I over do things but I am getting figity which means Im getting strength back. I gotta start stretching because Im getting stiff but that just lets me know Im alive. I plan to be preaching this Sunday be the will of God and life will be good. Thank you all for your true concern for me and mine. I am a very rich man in the things that matter most to me. I am planning to start a blog for my health which might make it easier for those who want to keep up to do so without too many places to update you can all friend me on FB if you want to http://www.facebook.com/#!/Pastor.Robert.Briggs I update here much more frequently because of the amount of family etc. But I consider you all part of my family and a great source of my victory! God bless you all.

I wanted to update those here on Robert. Last he spoke here he mentioned the cancer had been found on his brain. He has undergone treatment, but as of last week the cancer has spread down his spine. Again he has undergone more treatment, and is on pain medication. Over the past week he and I have talked a few times and have sent many emails back and forth. Today he tells me he is falling all over the place and having long times of blanking out.
Please send prayers Robert's way.

I wanted to pass it along to those here to let you know the family is doing good.

"Hi Eddie,

This is Emma, Robert's wife. I hope all is well. We are doing good, thanks to God. I was wondering if it would be possible, if you are still making signs, to make one for me. They will be dedicating the fellowship in Robert's memory, so it will be called the Rev. Robert A. Briggs Fellowship Hall and I wanted to get a nice wooden sign made for it.

If you could would you please let me know.

Thank You!
