Probe purchase seperate from PE Software?

I caught a blurb in a thread recently but figured I would post here. I already purchased the Pattern Editor software.
Can I purchase the probe separately minus the PE software price?

At the very least, we are in the business to STAY in business for all you guys that want us to stick around. We also want satisfied customers, so it is a balancing act.

Is the probe registered in any way? I would think that PE is the only part registered. Since the probe is not connected to the PC.

PE software isn't transferable - seen lots of probes for sale here in the past - usually can't sell them 'cause they don't come with the software - but since you have that, sounds like you're a buyer for a used probe....
